Secure transmission of data over the Internet

With IT IS control 2011 you can securely transmit data between front end and back end over the internet, even without the use of virtual private networks (VPN). This is possible with the encrypted form of the Microsoft message queue (MSMQ) communication for enhanced security. Consider this particularly useful, if you run a scenario, where parts of the architecture of your web portal are cloud based or hosted. Whenever your servers are located in different networks, it is crucial to have a save communication. With the 1024 bit asynchronous encryption algorithm, which IT IS control uses, your data travel safe on their trip through the internet.

Running encrypted data streams is straight forward: you configure the regular key exchange supported with the IT IS configuration tool first. At this stage, IT IS control is not yet involved in the communication. After the regular key exchange has run, you export the derived public/private key information from NAV and import it into the IT IS control configuration database.
